The barbacoa taco changed my life...Honestly teared up. Everything about this place is great from the chefs to the marketing to the atmosphere, but most importantly the food. I had El Topo catered for an event and they were amazing with the setup, their personalities and punctuality!
I headed up to El topo last Friday to meet some friends. It was our first time there and it was fantastic. I arrived a bit early and was immediately greeted by Blair who took great care of me, with a killer glass of bubbly, and then was our server the rest of the night. We had a group of five dudes that might be hard to please and everyone was blown away. The hand made food, the drinks that Blair suggested and the bottles of incredible wine were all off the charts. Nothing like feeling as though you are a regular at a neighborhood joint even though you’re all first timers. Just so you know, this is not a run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant that are so common in Houston… If you want a great environment, indoors or out, and an intriguing menu filled with unique choices, coupled with fantastic service, where the owner is hands on and circulating all night, grab a reservation and head on over to El Topo!
Great food! Easy quiet vibe. Was a random find and so happy to have found it. This place is across from a school so no Margaritas on the menu as no full liquor license... but otherwise it's a top choice for delicious Mexican food.
Great place for Mexican food. Lovely ambiance and decor but more importantly friendly staff. We ordered the tacos de pastor, chilaquiles and milk bread french toast which was all so good especially the flavors which were on point. We will be going there again for sure.
Another hidden gem! Chef Adrian has put together an amazing menu, that keeps you coming back! Warm greetings from the staff, amazing wine selection, and of course the food!
