This Plato’s Closet location is the absolute best, I only have great things to say about the store and the staff! As someone who has been selling to Plato’s for years now, I’ve been to stores in other cities/states that didn’t have good quality items, the wait lines were incredibly long, and the staff just didn’t seem happy to be there. Not the case here! Every time I come in, I’m greeted by Eddie, the awesome manager, who is always helping customers quickly with a smile and positive attitude. There is almost never a long wait to buy or sell, and they accept almost all of my items every single time. Also love that they donate whatever they don’t take, which saves me a trip to the Goodwill! Thanks Eddie and the rest of the Plato’s Closet Greenway staff, y’all are the best!
I came here to sell and was told they stop accepting items at 3pm. Considering most work till at least 5pm or 6pm I asked if there was any other time slots. I was told no. I come back at 2pm and am denied again and was told they stop accepting donations at 2pm on Sundays…this was more frustrating than normal considering I had just asked for information on times they took items and was told it was till 3pm everyday. I arrive again today before 3pm and am stopped and told I can’t sell if it is in a garbage bag. I live 20 minutes from this location and it is the closest one to me. They do not keep your reusable bag so i’m not sure how them sorting items from my bag vs a reusable one makes a difference. I have driven here now three times all to try and get some additional money this month. That additional amount probably adds up to the amount of gas I used trying to sell them. I’ve never had this many issues at a plato’s closet or anywhere when donating or selling items. If there are specific requirements and additional time restrictions outside of your store hours I’d suggest advertising them to avoid frustrating situations for other customers.
The customer service is so bad it’s comical. I have given them multiple chances over the years but today was the last time I will waste my time with their selling or buying or returns process. None are great, but this location is actually the worst. I wasn’t able to return an item (within the seven days with tags and receipt) solely because they just transitioned to a new credit card machine? They offered store credit at that location only but you can’t pay me enough to return. Rather than do what they can to solve the problem (one they created), they inconvenience and burden the customer. All with an attitude. Something I encounter every time I interact with a Plato’s employee. Avoid this and save yourself the trouble!
Highly recommend you skip this place and go to Buffalo exchange or another consignment shop. They have stupid rules about "only one bag at a time". Oh, also you have to have it in a resuable bag or box, otherwise they won't even look at it. Super unclear of how it even works when you go in. Just no.
I give a 1 star because ain’t no way you gone give me 52$ for 3 pairs of worn maybe three times one jorden, 2 newly Nikes a Michel kors purse used once 3 pairs of vans 1 brand new and the other 2 worn no more than 3 times. . When I went two months ago two Jean shorts 20$ smh, the guy in there LAZY!!!!!
